OGAWA RYO

Taking a photo means creating some meaning between yourself and the scenery you see through the viewfinder. To take a photograph is to capture a moment of scenery, people, animals, plants and trees, and to create something out of nothing, or to create something that is nothing.
Shaken by the waves of time, the film burns between the scenery and emotions in front of the present. It is not inorganic data that exists only on the screen, but the reality of film. When the film is finished with use, it becomes a mysterious object with an unknown content tightly packed with past moments. Until it develops, you can hold it in your pocket or place it on your desk and look at it occasionally, and you can have an urge for the future to see the past that you have cut out. I feel comfortable with the timeline created by film photography. That's why I keep going.
Most of what you do is pointless, but you still have to. We do this not to change the world, but to prevent the world from changing us.
